HD 107914 is a binary star in the constellation Centaurus at ≈78.3 pc from the Sun. Its first component is a white A-type giant. This relatively nearby star has notoriously small proper motions making from it a potential Nemesis candidate to penetrate into the Oort cloud.[5] Preliminary measurements from the H-alpha line give the radial velocity in the range from -13 to +3 km/s (a private communication from M. Muterspaugh and M. Williamson, Tennessee State University). Such values of the radial velocity are too small for the collision course with the solar system. For example, if , then the distance from the Sun to HD 107914 at its closest approach will be ≈1.6 pc in linear approximation.
