Dongans (Chinese Muslims)

Dongan (also Dungan) was a name used in the early 20th century to refer to Han Chinese Muslims in Gansu and Shaanxi[1]. These are now more commonly known as the Hui. Some sources say that the name refers to the Dongfu region of Shaanxi [2].
