The LSU Alabama Rivalry refers to a rivalry between Southeastern Conference members Louisiana State University Tigers and University of Alabama Crimson Tide. The teams first played in 1902 in Birmingham. Some say the rivalry began in 1971 when Alabama had a winning streak in Baton Rouge that lasted untill 2000 when LSU won 30-28 in Tiger Stadium. Since 1992 the two have played annualy, increasing the rivalry. LSU fans have become even further heated since Alabama hired former Tiger head coach Nick Saban in 2007. In 2007 LSU beat bama 41-34, their fifth consecutive win and the highest scoring contest in the series history.
