Background

Konstantin Dimitrov was born on November 21, 1970 in Samokov,Bulgaria.

Career

At 16, he started working as a bodyguard at Rila hotel in Borovets,Bulgaria. He graduated in Public Administration from the National and World Economy University. In 1997-98 he was an agent of the VIS insurance company in Vidin and Samokov.After Vasil Iliev's death he started growing up. According to his interviews for Sofia media, he dealt with trade, consultancy, import, restaurants-keeping and farming. In 2001 he declared a profit tax amounting to some 2 million levs from the activities of his firms based in Bulgaria. He also owns firms in Great Britain with annual profits amounting to pounds 200,000 each. He owns a hotel, several apartments, houses in Borovets and Bistritsa resorts. In 1997 he consulted for VIS and in May 2003 he consulted for Bulgarian and Cyprian companies, trading with Turkey. Soon he started smuggling narcotics.He bacame one of the biggest figures in drug traffic in the Balkans along with Ivan "The Doctor" Todorov and Sreten Jocic.

Death

On December 7, 2003 gunmen opened fire on Dimitrov as he and Bulgarian supermodel Tsetsi Krassimorova stared at diamonds in the window of Amsterdam's largest diamond shop at the Dam Square. Dimitrov was 31 years old.
