Hi Daduzi! I know you've been here for ages in a low-level way, but we try to send all new users a "welcome" message and you never got one! So, belatedly...
Hello, Daduzi, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place Your editsHi, I just came across your edits to BBC and although I assume you didn't mean to, you deleted most of the article, among others the category and the language links. I reverted your edits, but please note that that was in no way an assessment of the quality of your edits to the introduction, as I didn't take a good look at that. Kind regards, --JoanneB 08:57, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
BlasphemyYou make a good point; I should have looked at the talk page first. For now I've integrated a reference to the cartoons into the body of the paragraph. In a general survey article about blasphemy that's enough, and maybe more than we need if the whole business is forgotten in a few more months. If the article were specifically about Blasphemy in Islam, or if the section on Islam were significantly longer, I'd want to say more about it. I'll watch the talk page; let me know what you think. This refreshes my energy on this task! --Abu Badali 13:38, 6 July 2006 (UTC) BBC referencesHi Daduzi! This is the first article where I've used {{cite}} templates. I usually go for plain text as the flexibility is very useful (and you can give more information than {{cite web}} offers). But if we're aiming for FA and 1.0 status, I thought I should do it "properly" for once! You're right about the {{cite}} templates being contraversial for some people, but sometimes it feels like everything is here! I think that the ability to alter the template globally and the ability for downstream users of Wikipedia articles to decide what, if anything, they do with the references, probably makes for this to be the best choice. Your actual mileage may differ, of course! ➨ ЯEDVERS 14:18, 6 July 2006 (UTC) Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PjotroWould you mind moving your Delete over to the left side of the vote page for the sake of clarity on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pjotro? I don't know why I am so riled up about this kind of thing even being considered for Wikipedia, but I am. KarenAnn 11:56, 8 July 2006 (UTC) BBCHi Daduzi! Option C looks nicest and is probably the most reader-friendly layout. The cleanest is Option A, but the graphs look a bit, I don't know, detached? Seems to me that graphs and charts should have some body text to go with them, if only to "force" the reader into using the information available. So I vote for "C". Cheers! ➨ ЯEDVERS 16:48, 8 July 2006 (UTC) Clean up EffortsGreetings! I saw that you tagged Filial piety for cleanup, and just wanted to invite you to review my efforts, as I am a Newbie! Template:National squad does this using (I'm pretty sure) {{{title|{{{country}}} squad}}}. Title is the displayed title, country is the default value. (The link goes to the article Country national football team) Therefore I think it would be possible to add similar code to the FS2 template without ruining the ones already in place. Hi Daduzi! Yes, I'd been thinking about this. The response from Peer Review was disappointing - a javascript check, a long pause and a closure. I'd thought of reopening it myself, but like you I wondered if we wouldn't just get a javascript check, a long pause and a closure. Again. The FA idea has real merit, however. AFAIK, this isn't automated. It is soul destroying, but at least it's "real". I know people who have been through the process - they've left, reduced their wikiworkload, exploded in rage... and these are people who have achieved FA! I'm not joking. The process can be oddly like WP:RfA - a judgement of the person requesting rather than of the facts presented. However, the feedback - about the article - from a dozen or so editors can give very good clues. I edit neutrally, of course, but I'm a big fan of the BBC (as a concept, not always of BBC decisions) and thus know I'm only ever going to be 99.9% neutral in editing and deciding the future of the article in question. So, yes, we should go for FA, if only to get ideas, criticism, insults and facts chucked at us. We shouldn't go with a plan to fail, but should look on it as a learning process. And we should be ready to take the criticism we will get as editors. So, yes - send it to WP:FAC, but sign both our names (if you want). There's no reason for you to take the heat yourself. However, if you've got a constitution of iron (and you have my full support in what you do as an editor as a whole and on the BBC article in particular) just go for it and we'll both act on the suggestions from FAC and resubmit if we do fail. BTW, you'll soon be at six months of active editing of Wikipedia: would you find the extra buttons of being an admin useful and do you do any vandal fighting to really need them? I ask because you're close to 2000 edits, close on six months, you'll soon have a Featured Article under your belt... if the tools would be useful for you, it would be time to join the cabal and I'd be happy to nominate you come that time. But only if you think you've got a use for them, obviously. ➨ ЯEDVERS 19:41, 20 July 2006 (UTC) Village pump (technical)Your comment on ball sucking at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#search function was hilarious. Copyright of tables in WPHi Daduzi. Thanks for your comments on the copyright status of tables. The table I have in mind is very simple: it's just a list of all of the games Pele played in, and the scores, and how many goals Pele scored in each game, and a running total of goals Pele scored. There is no special formatting in the table and I've already edited it considerably, removing various year-on-year summaries, adding a couple of columns, and dividing the table into around ten sub-tables, each representing on average of two years of Pele's career. Does this sound like it would still be copyrighted to the original creator? Can you recommend a source which can clarify the issue? Jim (Talk) 11:41, 3 August 2006 (UTC) The GuardianI appreciate your willingness to compromise, but unfortunately you do not understand the actual conflict. 1. This dispute has nothing to do with anti-Semitism on the The Guardian, much less The Guardian at all. This is an attempt to attack me and scare me away and it is in retaliation for edits I made under one of my past accounts - User:Freestylefrappe. I angered several of the users in question under that account as an administrator. 2. The sites I mentioned are reliable. I would encourage you to read, though it is not necessary, the discussion on WP:V, unless you already have. The sites I sourced are the following:
Centre for Policy Studies National University of Ireland, has affiliate faculty status at the University of Haifa and Bar-Ilan University in Israel. Served on the editorial board of the International Journal of Maritime Economics. Seved on the steering committee of the Ports and Maritime Transport Group of the World Conference on Transport Research Society. Learned economics at the University of Washington and the University of Chicago, and has worked in the past at Northern Illinois University and the Port of Seattle. For his bio, see here.
Now, if you are genuinely interested in discussing a compromise to the criticism of The Guardian I am willing to talk but I respond badly to threats. Tchadienne 17:08, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Ralbot 05:38, 8 August 2006 (UTC) Re. Tarot & CriticsThis is a criticism that has gained some ground since the publication of Dummett's Game of Tarot. I think it is well placed in the Critics section. I fail to see how the reporting of such a view is considered controversial here. Perhaps it is due to a Wikipedia systemic bias. I have documented this school of thought. It has been expressed by the most well known Tarot historian as well as the most well known critic of its occult uses. I also hear such a view on occasion when I pursue this pastime online. The critics section, I think, should include ALL points of view. If you've a rebuttal to the notion that the card games are the more authentic tarot, then please post it. Besides the players of these games, some religious and skeptical critics have used this arguement as well; that the Tarot sold at the New Age bookstore is not the real deal. If you like, visit my talkspace, Smiloid 05:27, 9 August 2006 (UTC) In fairness, I have just offered a reply for you. It might be called a "pragmatist" defense of tarot reading. See William James. He believed in God because it was useful for him to do so. I have found that most Tarot readers today do not take seriously the more spurious notions concerning the decks origins and consider it largely irrelevant to this practice. I hope this balances things out, concerning POV's. Smiloid 08:06, 9 August 2006 (UTC) Signpost updated for August 14th
