This needs some work. It does not mention that he was a junior MI6 officer before WWII, and in 1940 he accompanied my father to Jersey and they would both have come to a sticky end as no one in England had realised that the Islands had already surrendered. They had to be extracted in some haste! I assume he stayed in SIS for the whole war, hence both he and my father receiving the Legion of Merit.
