Upon the death of her father, Makihisa, Akiha later becomes the head of the Tohno household and calls back Shiki, her brother, who is most precious to her, to the Tohno mansion, and they reunite.
Akiha is very protective of her brother, she is intent on knowing what he does with his day, and is extremely suspicious of what he does at night.
Like all of the Tohno family, Akiha has an abnormal condition in which her body uses more heat than usual. As such, she must leech heat off of others (as seen when she sucks Kohaku's blood). When she becomes excited her hair also returns to a vibrant, red color (her hair's true shade).
