Citing Sigmund Freud's Essay ''Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego'' probably provides all of the critical logic to link groupthink and street demonstrations--especially when demonstrators behave inconsistent with their individual best interest. Groupthink is actually the inability to voice one's opinion in fear of seeming to be not in agreement with the popular vocalized opinion at the moment. I think removing the link makes perfect sense.
