|''La Résistance'' is an expansion that adds [[espionage]] and occupation mechanics. Intelligence is greatly expanded, while occupation and resistance are completely reworked. The expansion also includes a revamped focus tree for [[French Third Republic|France]] (including [[Free France|Free]] and [[Vichy France|Vichy]]), a new one for [[Estado Novo (Portugal)|Portugal]], and two focus trees for the different sides of the [[Spanish Civil War]], one for the [[Nationalist faction (Spanish Civil War)|Nationalists]] and one for the [[Republican faction (Spanish Civil War)|Republicans]]. It also allows the civil war to spiral into a much bigger conflict.<ref name=LaRes/>
