In the 1950s, Holden had an extra martial affair with Grace Kelly during the production of The Country Girl (1954). He also had an affair with Audrey Hepburn. A decade later, Holden tried to re-kindle the affair with Hepburn while co-starring with her in Paris When It Sizzles (1964) but this was to no avail as Hepburn was then a married woman.
Holden met French actress [[Capucine]] in the early 1960s. The two starred in the films ''[[The Lion (film)|The Lion]]'' (1962) and ''[[The 7th Dawn]]'' (1964).
