Neo Tiew is named after [[Neo Ao Tiew]] (梁後宙), a prominent Chinese businessman. Neo is credited with the development of the Lim Chu Kang area, where he built roads, houses and a seaport. He was also the founder and [[sheriff]] of Lim Chu Kang Village.
