In 1988, Shanta entered the [[ready-made garment]] (RMG) sector, becoming one of the pioneers in exporting RMGs with companies such as Shanta Garments Ltd, Shanta Industries Ltd, Shanta Wash Works Ltd, GDS Chemicals Ltd, and Shanta Denims Ltd.
