== Controversy ==

During one of the episodes of Bengali [[Srijit Mukherjee|filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee]]'s reality show, Parambrata Chatterjee inadvertently became part of a controversy courtesy of his co-guest actor Rudranil Ghosh. While chatting with the host, the latterGhosh claimed that the two actors were dating the same girl. He didn't stop there and made an insulting and cringe-worthy sexually loaded remark, referring to the girl as a 'playground' where he 'played' in the morning and Parambrata 'played' in the evening. This comment, however, did not go down well with the girl in question, who, in her response, filed a defamation case against the two actors. Nonetheless, many media reports dismissed the incident as a 'poor publicity stunt by the makers. <ref>{{Cite web |url=https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/bengali/movies/news/national-award-winning-director-taken-to-court/articleshow/51190273.cms |title= National Award-winning director taken to court |access-date=6 April 2023 }}</ref>

For the movie ''[[Abhijaan (2022 film)|Abhijaan]]'' Poulami Bose accused director Parambrata of blatant misrepresentations of original events, ignoring important people and aspects of his life and using her son’sson's accident in the film. Parambrata said the depictions were endorsed by the actor himself. <ref>{{Cite web |url=https://www.news18.com/news/movies/abhijaan-parambrata-chattopadhyays-film-on-soumitra-chatterjee-faces-criticism-for-misrepresentation-of-original-events-5015149.html |title=Abhijaan: Parambrata Chattopadhyay's Film on Soumitra Chatterjee Faces Criticism for Misrepresentation of Original Events|access-date=7 April 2023 }}</ref>
