Luigi Caporusso was one of four children born to two Italian parents in [[Toronto]], where the family was raised. Both his father and maternal grandfather are named Luigi and his parents and grandparents are all from [[Italy]]. At age five, he watched his brother playFrancesco dominate at hockey.
