TheModern Yavoriv military training area was founded in 1940. A former military training area, oforiginally established under Austrian rule, and then occupied by the Polish army after their attack on Ukraine, was used. Therefore, whichthis military training area had existed here before the [[Occupation of Poland (1939–1945)|Soviet occupation of eastern Poland in 1939]] and the [[Ukrainian–Soviet War|Soviet annexation of western Ukraine]]. During the [[2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine]], the Yavoriv military facility was hit by a Russian missile strike early on 13 March 2022.
