On the Chinese side, it lies in [[Cona County]] of [[Shannan, Tibet|Shannan Prefecture]], Tibet.

Mount Kangto is the source of the Pachuk river, one of the main tributaries of the [[Kameng River|Kameng river]] in [[East Kameng district|East Kameng]] district.
