A New York judge has postponed Donald Trump's hush money criminal trial sentencing until September. The former president was scheduled to be sentenced next Thursday on his business fraud conviction. Here is CNN's Kara Scannell.

Trump's team had asked for a delay of the sentencing and a briefing schedule so they could make these legal arguments about presidential immunity, questioning some of the evidence that had been entered into the case. Either testimony about Oval Office meetings, things that could potentially be considered official acts and that could be excluded or should have been excluded under this new Supreme Court decision. He said that he would issue his opinion on presidential immunity on September 6th, and then he said that the sentencing would take place on the 18th.

The delay means Trump is likely to escape any concrete punishment for his felony conviction this summer, in the wake of Monday's Supreme Court ruling that presidents have an absolute immunity from prosecution for core official acts. The SCOTUS decision means a trial in the federal election subversion case is unlikely to happen before the election, and the ruling could impact the classified documents and Georgia election interference cases as well.

Hurricane Beryl is now a very powerful Category 4 storm, with sustained winds of 155mph. That's just shy of the threshold for a category five hurricane. The storm is expected to remain very strong and dangerous when it makes landfall in Jamaica Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. A major hurricane defined as a category three or higher, hasn't struck Jamaica in over 30 years. Beryl is the earliest category four on record in the Atlantic Ocean, and the U.N. World Meteorological Organization warns it's, quote, "an alarming precedent" for this hurricane season. The hurricane killed at least six people in Venezuela and across the Caribbean earlier this week.

The Israeli military has ordered a fresh round of evacuation orders for many parts of southern Gaza, including Rafah and Khan Younis. And the International Committee of the Red cross says thousands of Palestinians have fled "in panic and fear." The impacted area is home to the Gaza European Hospital, one of the territory's last remaining medical facilities. The ICRC says many staff members have evacuated, leaving the hospital unable to run effectively. The Red Cross emphasizes there is no safe place in Gaza for displaced Palestinians to go. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is dismissing a New York Times report, citing top security officials who want a cease fire while Hamas is in power. Netanyahu says the war will only end, quote, "once Israel achieves all of its objectives, including the destruction of Hamas.".

More than 100 people were killed today in a stampede at a Hindu prayer meeting in Uttar Pradesh in India. Police say at least 116 people were killed, but the death toll carries. A local official says the stampede happened as people were leaving the event held to celebrate the Hindu god Shiva. It's unclear what caused the deadly crush, but it was extremely hot and humid and the crowd inside the tent was reportedly far larger than allowed.

Coming up, a new drug for Alzheimer's. Hey. We're back.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Donanemab as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease. It's a monoclonal antibody designed to slow the progression of early symptoms and works by helping the body remove plaque buildup in the brain. The treatment will cost $695 per vial before insurance. That's about $12,000 for a six month course, or about $32,000 for a year, depending on when the patient completes their treatment. Donanemab is not a cure, but clinical trials showed it allowed Alzheimer's patients to live independently for a longer period of time.
