Mod Database oder Mod DB ist eine Website, die sich auf das Modding von Videospielen konzentriert. Es wurde 2002 von Scott Reismanis gegründet. Seit September 2015 hat die Mod DB-Site über 604 Millionen Aufrufe erhalten, hat mehr als 12.500 Änderungen registriert und mehr als 108 Millionen Downloads gehostet. Eine Spin-off-Website, Indie DB, wurde 2010 ins Leben gerufen und konzentriert sich auf Indie-Spiele und Nachrichten. ModDB hat aktuell einen Alexa Rank von ca. 2200[1].

Mod of the Year

Mod DBs Wettbewerb der "Golden Spanner"-Award, zielt darauf ab, den Industriestandard für innovative und qualitativ hochwertige Mods zu setzen. Mods werden über eine Community-Abstimmung ausgewählt und dann von den Mitarbeitern überprüft, um die endgültige Liste der Gewinner zu erstellen. Der Wettbewerb zielt darauf ab, alle Bereiche des Moddens, mit verschiedenen Kategorien wie Computergrafik und Gameplay.
