Summary
[edit]DescriptionSluice at Werrington - geograph.org.uk - 662724.jpg |
English: Sluice at Werrington. Sluice gate on a drainage ditch beside the Great Northern mainline at Werrington Junction. The sluice allows water to pass under the railway to join a stream in the Gunthorpe area of Peterborough. The locomotive, 25047, is on a Midlands to East Anglia service. The junction signals are visible either side of the loco. This photo pre-dates the new industrial estate on the opposite side of the line and the footbridge that crosses the line and the watercourse at this point. |
