English: In 1950 the Brooks-Scanlon Lumber Co. purchased and then closed down its main competitor, the Shevlin-Hixon Lumber Co.
on the west and opposite bank of the Deschutes River in Bend. In 1951 the Shevlin-Hixon property was leased to Oregon Woodwork Ltd who began full operations in 1952. That name displayed on building at far left. (Scanned from Fujichrome Provia 100F slide) |
