Description
Deutsch: [Inschrift der Tafel:] Das Schiefe Haus - Weinhaus Landau

Die Fachwerkkonstruktion aus der Mitte des 18ten Jahrhunderts gilt als das schiefste bewohnte Fachwerkhaus in Deutschland. Die tragenden Balken neigen sich auf einem Meter bis zu 18 cm aus dem Lot. Holzuntersuchungen haben ergeben, dass die Balken der ersten beiden Geschosse schon älter sind, wahrscheinlich also schon einmal in einer anderen Fachwerkkonstruktion verwandt wurden.

Um eine weitere Neigung zu verhindern, wurde der Eingang vom Nordgiebel an die Osttraufe verlegt und eine kräftige Treppenhauskonstruktion mit einer 55 cm dicken Mittelschotte aus Stahlbeton eingezogen, mit der der Deckenbalken und die Außenwände kraftschlüssig verbunden sind. Nach langem Leerstand wurde das Haus von 2006 bis 2008 umfassend saniert und ist seit 2008 auf 400m² Wohnfläche wieder bewohnt.
