Deutsch: Justizvollzugsanstalt mit Hochsicherheitstrakt.
Die Anstalt wurde nach 4-jähriger Bauzeit im September 1963 in Betrieb genommen. Das Gefängnis wurde nach den damals modernsten Erkenntnissen der Sicherheit erbaut und bestand aus drei Gebäudekomplexen, aufgeteilt in einen Vollzugsbereich, der Verwaltung und den Werkstätten. Das umfriedete Gelände umfasst heute circa 50.000 Quadratmeter. Über die Landesgrenzen hinaus bekannt wurde die Justizvollzugsanstalt Stuttgart durch die Inhaftierung von RAF-Gefangenen.
