Description Two U.S. Navy Martin PM-1 flying boats of patrol squadron VP-9F passing over destroyer squadron DesRon 20. Planes of patrol squadrons VP-7F, VP-9F, and VP-11F had laid a smoke screen during an exhibition staged for Movietone News off San Diego, California (USA), 14 September 1936. The ships are (front to back): USS Aylwin (DD-355), USS Monaghan (DD-354), USS Dale (DD-353), and USS Worden (DD-352); not visible are USS Macdonough (DD-351), USS Hull (DD-350), USS Dewey (DD-349), and USS Farragut (DD-348).
