Pictured here are participants in the International Guard Track and Field Meet held in Shanghai, China. Although the participants in this image are unidentified, the following newspaper excerpt describes the results of the various relay events. "The 1,600 metre medley relay, was practically won by the Italian distance man, Andriola. The American runners were in the lead for the first 200 metre and 400 metre distances but Andriola let the American pace him for one lap in the 800 metre and then easily passed him to give his team mate such a lead that it was easy for him to romp home a winner.
