Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Comparison of some electrophoretic techniques, namely zone electrophoresis, isotachophoresis and iso-electric focusing. Green, blue, red: analytes.

In zone electrophoresis, the analytes are separated according to their electrophoretic mobilities

In isotachophoresis , the analytes are separated according to their electrophoretic mobilities but remain sandwiched between the terminating and leading electrophoresis.

In iso-electric focussing, a pH-gradient is created and the analytes are focussed at the location where the pH matches their pI.
