Description
English: Location of the summer camp of the Matt Talbot Community Trust

The Matt Talbot Community Trust is a community education programme in Ballyfermot. Set up in 1986, it grew out of the Candle Community Trust, which was set up in 1976. Working as a teacher in St Dominic’s College from 1971, the Dominican nun Sr. Caoimhín Ní Uallacháin was involved in community outreach work in her spare time in a poor district. From the mid-1970’s she set about organising a centre for children expelled from school and her work grew and grew. www.matttalbot.org

the Ballyfermot Community Trust camp is located in Ballinascorney, in the Dublin Mountains above Tallaght.
