Description
Русский: Чем больше заголовков передаётся в пакете, тем ниже скорость передачи полезных данных.

У большинства протоколов есть необязательные поля. На данном графике считается, что длины заголовков: IP — 20 байт; GRE — 24 байта; TCP — 20 байт; UDP — 8 байт; PPPoE — 8 байт; Ethernet — 18 байт. Преабула и межкадровый интервал не учитываются, потому что эти данные отбрасываются при обработке кадра на физическом уровне. Имеет смысл их учитывать, когда максимальная скорость передачи ограничена только протоколом среды (в данном случае Ethernet) и не ограничена провайдером. Задержки, потери пакетов и особенности TCP на данном графике не учитываются.

На данном графике ось абсцисс может быть интерпретирована как нагрузка пакета (payload) при неизменном Ethernet MTU либо как MTU Ethernet-кадра при максимальном его заполнении.
