This is a protected trademark according to https://branddb.wipo.int/en/brand/WO500000001459412?asStructure=%7B%22_id%22:%22ab07%22,%22boolean%22:%22AND%22,%22bricks%22:%5B%5D%7D It is not free for use by anyone, hence a copyright violation. The link you cite has an icon but it is in black. It is not the same icon to what has been uploaded to WikiCommons which is white and green including a white box. Psychologist Guy (talk) 12:40, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We were asked on this page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Veganism) to reach out to the original author Peepal Farm Foundation. This we did and the feedback we received from them on the 21st of June 2023 was:
"The attributed author of this image was listed as Peepal Farm Foundation. We have taken action and requested the deletion of the image. Meanwhile, we have edited the page and changed the author to "V-Label Switzerland." We are V-Label Switzerland and request to have the picture removed.
The picture on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veganism states: "The symbol widely used to denote a vegan-friendly product". This is not true (i.e. it is not widely used on vegan products, but very rarely found on any vegan products, if at all). Furthermore, this description implies that the image can be taken by anyone and placed on a product, which again is not true as the symbol of a "V" with a leaf on one end is a protected trademark.
If all of this still is not sufficient for the removal, please reply in detail what steps are still missing to process the removal. Lswissveg (talk) 07:26, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Commons does not protect trademarks; your company does, if people try to violate them. Commons is concerned with copyright, not trademark. Note that I already stated that above; you just don't like it. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:19, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    Why keep? We have been made the owner of this picture and request it to be removed. What do we need to do or prove to get it removed? Please be specific.
    The image description says "The symbol widely used to denote a vegan-friendly product". Where are all these products? We work internationally to provide vegan certification and have certified more than 50'000 products. I am not aware of any products that have this symbol on them and it is most certainly not "widely used". Lswissveg (talk) 07:55, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Commons uses {{Trademarked}} to identify trademarks but does not delete them. It should be kept also because firstly the current trademark status has been changing between revoked and protected continually over the last few years - including during this discussion, and secondly because this image is a derivation with different colours and a border, and the leafed V alone in green has been marked as too simple for copyright protections on commons (which I presume means also too simple to be trademarked). The actually File:V-Label 2023.png and it's variations (yellow and green in a circle with category text) are the ones in use and are marked as trademarked on commons already. - [[User:Amousey|Amousey]] (talk) 00:06, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
