No authorship information, unknown copyright situation. Jcb (talk) 01:40, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
- Keep work is in the public domain. Kishfan (talk) 08:42, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Kishfan: Please explain how it would be in the public domain? There is no information on the country of origin, so it's unclear which copyright law is applicable. There is a PD-old template, but without the death date of the author, there is no way to know whether this template would be valid. Jcb (talk) 09:27, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
-the artwork was in my posession during upload. the artwork seemed to me as an artwork performed in the 19th century, obviously created for an educational purpuse.
there was no author information connected to the artwork. the artwork was obviously created for educational use once, and the work is replicated here only in a small informal size for the historic relevance. what could really be the damage if it is kept here ? afore there is damage , delete it to follow the sturgeons fate. lg molekuel
- What you say sounds very much like a Fair use rationale. Fair use is not allowed at Commons, but the English Wikipedia does allow local uploads of Fair use files. Jcb (talk) 22:27, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Jcb: But it clearly says 70 years.Kishfan (talk) 03:24, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
- I saw the stated license, but without more information we cannot determine whether that license is valid. Just pasting PD-old to the image description page does not make a file PD. Jcb (talk) 14:37, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
