Commons:Deletion requests/File:Nina Kandinsky-110.jpg
Copyright violation of Nina Kandinsky (1899-1980). Not trusted source of publishing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Webaugust (talk • contribs) 19:12, 11 September 2018 (UTC)Webaugust (talk) 21:41, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
- 1. the [Category:Undelete in 2051]] is at the moment of no help for the case, because Nina Kandinsky is not the author of the painting. --Goesseln (talk) 18:08, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- 2. who is the author of the portrait?
- It is not the problem of untrustable source but there is a problem of the author.
- If it can be proven, that Wassily Kandinsky was the painter, than the photo of the picture is Wikimedia-PD-art and PD-old-70. If this reproduction is found in an untrustable source, so what?
- But it seems, that it can't be proven.
- I took a quick look at
- Hans Konrad Röthel; Jean K. Benjamin: Kandinsky : Werkverzeichnis der Ölgemälde. 2. 1916 - 1944. München : Beck, 1984 ISBN 3-406-08892-9
- there seems to be no such portrait.
- And, this portrait has never been mentioned by none, never been shown in a publication, except now in two (untrustable) Internetsources
- until 1-1-2015 (W.K. was PD-old-70 then), when it was uploaded in Commons, by me, my fault, so far.
- therefore deletion would be quite ok, unless someone finds out about the authorship.
- 3. the picture shows N.K., is that right?

I see you understand the problem. It would be nice if you will remove both files of unproved Nina Kandinsky image. Also off topic. The year of birth (1899) of Nina Kandinsky was provided by Nina Kandinsky in her book "Kandinsky und ich". Anybody's opinion about her age is not legit. Lets keep Wiki platform lawful and transparent Webaugust (talk) 23:48, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- @ Webaugust : you are wrong
- it's not me, who is doing the deletion.
- and concerning the year of birth, feel free to improve informations with a source:
- author, publication, year, page.
- it's a wiki.

The date of birth of Nina Kandinsky with reference to Nina Kandinsky provided by copyright owner: Centre Pompidou, Paris. Link Thank you. Webaugust (talk) 20:53, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
- the date of birth is not a question concerning the photo of the portrait-painting. Please discuss that topic elsewhere. --Goesseln (talk) 14:44, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- Provenance
copies of the allegedly portrait of N.K. are on sale on several internet-sales-platforms, for instance:

I don't know, if there is a description of the picture by the en:Pushkin Museum. --Goesseln (talk) 15:16, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
The only trustable source for subjects of Wassily and Nina Kandinsky is Society Kandinsky, Center Pompidou, Paris. The image of Nina Kandinsky is a subject of copyright. No matter who is the author of this painting, as long as it described as Portrait of Nina Kandinsky it should be authorize by Center Pompidou. Webaugust (talk) 16:27, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- yes and no
- The "Société Kandinsky, association loi 1901" (Kandinsky Society) is not the Centre Pompidou, it's seated there.
- A commentary of the K.S. concerning the alleged portrait of N.K. could be of much help, a commentary of the Pushkin Museum could be of help, a commentary of Getty Images would be of little to nil.
- By that imho we could finish this, keep the discussion in mind, just in case of a revival..., and delete the two objects.

Kept: no valid reason for deletion: the author died in 1944. --Yann (talk) 11:35, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
