Same as Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Barilla Group - with the difference that this photo does not seem to be keepable without permission from Barilla. Nearly all parts (except the blue text) are copyright eligible. Cropping / blurring not really possible. Saibo (Δ) 16:59, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I didn't know there were such copyright issues, however you can crop the picture deleting the bottom part of the packaging and leaving only the logo and the name of the biscuits, in a similar manner you did with this pasta packet.--Carnby (talk) 13:41, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your comment! No problem, now you know (see the links I provided in the other deletion request for info). :-) The problem here is the background of the name (that white curved banner) which could well be copyright eligible - it is not a simple shape like the red barilla oval. I made a crop .. and, well, that is not so much curvy banner as I thought. That may be indeed okay. So just the original version's content needs to be hidden. --Saibo (Δ) 15:25, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If the problem is just the background of the name, I would rather blur it instead of cropping the entire image (which would cut also the entire "Edizione speciale per i 150° anni dell'Unità d'Italia" statement, the reason why I uploaded it). Here it is an attempt I made (Gaussian blur 25% with GIMP) of course it is rather rough, I could blur it more, but it's just to show if my idea would avoid the possible copyright infringement. If you think it is still unacceptable, here it is a more sensible crop.--Carnby (talk) 18:46, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The problem are all parts which are photos or drawings. All text is okay. So http://web.tiscali.it/linnets/mulino%20bianco%20150%20crop.jpg is not okay (photos of the cakes to prominent - not de minimis). http://web.tiscali.it/linnets/mulino%20bianco%20150.jpg is too less blurred and the cakes are still visible. --Saibo (Δ) 21:03, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think now?--Carnby (talk) 21:45, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would say that is not enough. The blurred parts should have no value for the overall photo (otherwise it is still a derivative work). They still have with your editing (try to scale down the images to a smaller size and you will not notice that it is blurred but instead see original content - at least if you know how these packagings look like. Don't try to preserve the original look - that is not the aim. --Saibo (Δ) 22:18, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think this version should be OK.--Carnby (talk) 10:02, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that could be okay. You could have blurred it more. ;-) However, let's also wait what other people say. Ciao --Saibo (Δ) 15:35, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: upload this http://web.tiscali.it/linnets/mulino_bianco_blur_crop.jpg when you desire Ezarateesteban 19:17, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
