English: Lineage tracing of 9D11-expressing cells labels the central complex and associated regions in the adult brain. Three-dimensional reconstruction movie of confocal stacks of an adult brain expressing GFP in INP progeny, stained for GFP (white). The central brain is shown. At the beginning of the movie, the brain is in the frontal view: anterior is towards the viewer, posterior is towards the screen, dorsal is up, ventral is down, and lateral is towards left and right. The majority of cell bodies are in the posterior cortex. All central complex neuropils, except the PB, which is occluded by the cell bodies, and the accessory area LALs are distinguishable in the movie. The anterior commisure of the FB and other parts of the brain, including large areas in the medial protocerebrum and specific glomeruli in the ALs, are innervated as well. |
