DOUBLE DECKER ROOT BRIDGE

Summary

Description
English: Root Bridge is a mysterious and most admired wonder located in North East India, the state of Meghalaya.

The Bridge has 2 decks or layers which are created due to the entanglement of the roots and remains blessed with massive rain for a major part through the year and formed of living plant roots by tree shaping. The Root bridge connects remote villages during heavy rains which is an innovative solution to cross over the flooded rivers and streams.

It is an example of peaceful existence between humans and nature.
