File:Artist's Concept of Curiosity Rover Subsidized by Advertising.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

File:Falcon Projection Advertising.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Slow your roll

Ericmachmer, you have been editing on the projects here for just a few months, you should consider reaching out for help before attacking admins. Ellin did not do anything "personal" nor did Jim. Offering images to Commons is a process, and it does take time to learn that process. I answered you as I felt your frustrations but thought I might put my 2 cents in for my friend Ellin, someone that I have a great deal of respect for, and would do anything to assist. You have the issue of being a "new user" as well, so that is going to leave you under a bit of a microscope till you get the hang of it. Trust me, getting frustrated at anyone on the site is just not the right way to go, I speak from experience here. Looking at your EN page, it seems like you know what your doing, in so far as Wiki-Markup, so before you get upset, just use the tools, read the rules and feel free to ask me if you need help, I know the rules & everyone around commons well enough to help you if you need it, just ask. First do us a favor and chill your jets, and please don't get upset at the admins, you will get the hang of it... Thank you :) --Don (talk) 21:59, 17 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Relax, I was of course extremely polite and professional in my initial reaction to images tagged for deletion. Very professional, very civil, constructive -- with the expectation such effort would be returned in kind. The problem is that after a week and a half no one responded to discussion pages I started for these images, nor their nomination pages, nor even on the original admin's personal page. The point of nominating images for deletion rather than deleting them immediately is to foster a constructive conversation...which has, in this case, determined there are no copyvios and that apparently there is scope for use. However the images have not yet been undeleted. It is beyond ridiculous that Ellin apparently needs you to speak for her though. She had a week and a half to correct her unprofessional amateurish misattributions. She should be the one to respond, and apologize, not you, hero. "Slow your roll"..."issue of being a new user"..."someone that I would have a great deal of respect for, and would do anything to assist"...these are personalized phrases disrespectful of me. What happens between you and Ellin has nothing to do with me. I couldn't care less. Let her address her mistakes. You don't need to lecture me about "attacking admins" as Ellin's white knight. It's odd. Especially when I was of course professional in my initial interactions. The discussion pages were useless. No one responded to polite, direct, constructive comments started there. Ellin did not respond to polite comments left on her talk page. Polite, professional comments. Nothing was done to correct her amateurish misattributions. The images were deleted without discussion. I never "attack admins" in any personal way, but to expect constructive discussions to be conducted before images are deleted does not seem like too much to ask for a professional role. What is the responsibility of an admin, if notices for deletion are never responded to? This experience has made wiki commons worse, wikipedia less informative, and me much less of a fan. It could have been avoided if Ellin had been professional, responsible from the start. So please, cut the lecturing, spare me its condescending corny tone. (Besides, it makes you look like some kind of simpleton asskisser seeking Ellin's approval...sheesh, not attractive.) --And Jim? I have always been straightforward and friendly with Jim. That seems like a distraction for you to unleash your odd over-the-line defense of Ellin. What happens between you and Ellin should not interfere with professional expectations for Wiki Commons. Ericmachmer (talk) 22:58, 17 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
I speak for no one, simply point out that your logic is flawed and your anger misdirected. Others will often post on a admin talk page as the admin job is a thankless one, that is understaffed and has a heavy backlog, sorry you don't seem to understand how the site works yet. Your comment makes you look like a clueless idiot that I would not want to deal with either. Ellin has been a fan of my photos for many years, I create media and don't need to try to upload others work as mine stands on its own. Best of luck to you.. --Don (talk) 01:42, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
First, I created the images. That was clarified by Jim, their copyright is no longer in question. For some reason you think they are to be used for an article about a music album (""Advertising Space" by Robbie Williams). It's just beyond my imagination how that could be misunderstood but this is the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_advertising on which they will be used. Such scope has been noted on several discussion threads related specifically to the images. Other admins understand their scope and use. Please do not post on my talk page again, your tone and competency is in question. If you have issues with the images reply on their appropriate deletion log in a professional manner.
