AI is a game changer in rooting out resistant, aggressive weeds. 🌱 Palmer amaranth, waterhemp and other weeds are choking crops globally and causing farmers $32 billion in annual losses. So, we’re harnessing machine learning to screen billions of molecules, speed up the development of safe and targeted herbicides, and get them out of the labs into the hands of farmers faster. To do this, we’ve teamed up with US crop-health company Enko®, which is backed by investors including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Our teams aim to discover novel herbicide molecules that will disrupt processes in the plant growth cycle, controlling weed susceptibility by inhibiting growth and development. Trailblazer Chris Weaver is helping redefine soybean farming in Maryland, U.S. by combining traditional and sustainable methods. His yields have soared above the regional average as a result. 🚀 While neighboring farms typically harvest 50-55 bushels an acre, Chris's yields have leapt to 160.
