Update 8/26/15: We've received a couple of comments in regards to this solution being a potential fire hazard or fire code violation. We did not initially take this into consideration as the curtains never actually touched the water heater. However, as one reader mentioned, there may be minimum clearance requirements within your insurance policies & fire codes. We recommend that you research your local fire codes before implementing this system just in case…

- I’ve had these wall decals (think giant stickers) up for 4 years & none are peeling off! I linked a ton of my favorite styles!
- I often get questions about the safety of the curtain in front of the outlets, it’s absolutely safe. The curtain is hung several inches in front of the outlets off the wall (PS my husband is an electrician 😉).
- You can use an actual curtain rod for this if your walls are spaced differently & valence length curtains if you don’t want to make your own!
- The no sew hem tape is a game changer for lots of home decor things but also dresses & pants!
