  • #Indigenoustoursim #tourisminsights The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has released a landmark report at its Global Summit in Perth, highlighting the projected $67 billion USD contribution of Indigenous tourism to the global economy by 2034. The report underscores the sector’s role in driving economic growth, particularly in remote areas, while preserving Indigenous cultures and empowering communities. Download the report👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/eAkM8uSV Indigenous tourism is rapidly becoming a key economic driver, creating jobs and promoting cultural preservation. The global market is set to grow at a rate of 4.1% annually, empowering communities to control their economic futures. In Western Australia, Aboriginal tourism participation is at an all-time high, contributing significantly to the state’s economy. Similarly, in Canada, Indigenous tourism supports nearly 2,000 businesses and over 39,000 jobs, contributing $1.7 billion CAD to the economy in 2017. Despite its growth, challenges remain in securing funding, but initiatives like Canada’s Indigenous Tourism Destination Fund aim to create 800 new businesses and 21,000 jobs by 2030. WTTC continues to advocate for Indigenous tourism to ensure communities benefit fully from the sector’s growth.
