In 1917, David Belais of Belais Brothers submitted his special formula of white gold; the patent was applied for in October of 1918, and approved in 1920. The Belais alloy became so popular, that during the 1920s, white gold was sometimes referred to as "Belais metal." The white gold used in this ring offsets the sparkling solitaire diamond perfectly!
