This classic scalloped potato recipe is made with a simple layering of flour, seasonings, potatoes, and milk, along with a shredded cheese topping.

This dish is a beautiful combination of potatoes au gratin and rösti. Like rosti, the potatoes are peeled and coarsely grated. Then, like potatoes au gratin, the potatoes are baked in a luxurious creamy and cheesy sauce. It's a fancy-ish side dish for any special meal.

Another yummy-sounding recipe that I am posting for safekeeping. This is baked in an 11-12 inch baking dish or skillet about 2 inches deep or individual baking dishes about 6 inches in diameter.

It's the best of both worlds.

I am a huge fan of most potato recipes but when it comes to gratin or scalloped potatoes I find them extra tasty! This recipe uses broth in place of cream. Don’t even begin to think these are lesser for being made without cream. They get a good dose of butter and the perfect amount of cheese. I actually prefer these over the same type with cream.
