Vienna University Library is responsible for the systematic cataloguing and presentation of all collections located at the various departments and faculties for teaching and research purposes. These collections not only contain items of high didactic, scientific and historical value, they are also part of the national cultural heritage. They cover a range from traditional teaching and research collections, historical collections, audio, slide and video collections, legal estates and archives to gardens, greenhouses, herbaria and an observatorium.
