An Aussie lotto winner is thanking his lucky stars after scoring two incredible million-dollar jackpots in a year. The man from the Brisbane suburb of Forest Lake scored a $3.7 million win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto.

Remarkably, the dad landed a $2.8 million prize less than 12 months ago. The case of déjà vu has left the man questioning his sanity, The Lott said.

Spokesperson Anna Hobdell described his incredible luck in such a short period of time as “remarkable” to Yahoo News on Monday.

“The chances of winning division one in Saturday Gold Lotto with a single standard game are 1 in 8,145,060, and remarkably, this Forest Lake man managed to defy the odds twice,” she said.

“It just goes to show anything can happen, and you just need an entry to be in it with a chance to win!”

The Brisbane man gasped when he was contacted by officials with The Lott.

“I can’t believe it’s happened again,” he said. “Wow! Thank you so much. I had a double-take when I checked it this morning.

“I just thought to myself, ‘Wow, this is unbelievable’. Winning twice is magical.”

The dad said after revealing the news to his siblings, they questioned if the news was ‘“real”.

“My brother rang up all of his friends and they got together to celebrate,” he said. “Some might question why I continue to play but I thought I’d give it another shot to continue to help out my family. We’re all so shocked.”

The white-collar worker told The Lott he now plans on splashing some of the cash on himself.

“Last time, I used most of the win to help set up my family,” he said. “Now, I’ll be able to donate to a lot of charities, buy myself a property and travel the world! This really gives me the freedom to travel everywhere. I want to see all of the world!

“I’m still working. I love what I do. I work in the medical sector, and I really enjoy giving back to those less fortunate.”

A mum from South East Queensland also held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4481 — each of which took home $3.7 million.

The woman who admitted she didn’t play often said she was going to use the prize to “help set up [her] daughter for the future”. “She’s still so young and this will go a long way,” she said.
