“Clothes Reforming Service” of UNIQLO: Improves Lives of People with Disabilities (PWDs) in South Korea Realizing that people with disabilities were facing difficulties in their everyday lives, UNIQLO’s sustainability team in South Korea launched the “Clothes Reforming Service” for People with Disability in partnership with the Korean Society for the Cerebral Palsied (KSCP) in 2019.  The service provides a one-on-one customization service for UNIQLO clothes, taking into consideration each person’s physical condition and personal preferences, after a thorough consultation with specialized tailors and counsellors. In October this year, UNIQLO, South Korea has won two sustainability awards with its ‘clothes reforming service for people with disabilities’. The first award was given by the ‘Korea Public Design Awards’, which aims to enhance the quality of people’s lives by recognizing desirable public design practices. Under this year’s theme of ‘Embracement: Transition for All’, UNIQLO’s clothes reforming service received the excellence award, and it has been acknowledged for its inclusive designs. The second prize was ‘Award of the Minister of Health and Welfare’, presented at the festival for PWDs by the Korean Society for The Cerebral Palsied(KSCP). The reform service received the award on account of improving the quality of life for people with cerebral palsy. UNIQLO was the only award winner from the private sector this year. Until September this year, UNIQLO, South Korea’s reform service has supported about 3,800 PWDs and provided them with approximately 16,000 clothes. #uniqlo #lifewear #powerofclothing #whatmakeslifebetter #uniqlosouthkorea #sustainability #peoplewithdisability #diversityandinclusion

[Future Leaders Shine Bright at our Global Management Program 2024] At Fast Retailing global headquarters in Tokyo, we just concluded our six-day Global Management Program from July 28 to August 2, 2024. 43 future global business leaders from all over the world joined us to get a deeper understanding of the Fast Retailing business and to work on pressing global business issues. Starting off their program with a day exploring Tokyo, the students also gained detailed insights through interactive sessions with Fast Retailing’s global leaders. They learnt about our business strategy and LifeWear philosophy, about our transformation into a digital consumer retail company, and about our comprehensive program to balance sustainability with business growth. Participants also drilled down into core areas of our business such as merchandising and e-commerce. The highlight of the program was a visit to UNIQLO stores in the storied Tokyo districts of Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, where participants were introduced to both retail management and the global apparel industry. Over the course of our week-long program, students drew on their learnings to develop inventive solutions to real business challenges, then presented these to our Senior Leaders on the final day. A big thank you to the students who participated in GMP 2024 with such energy and enthusiasm! #uniqlo #lifewear #powerofclothing #globalmanagementprogram #globalmanagementprogram2024 #gmp #gmp2024 #futurebusinessleader #personalgrowth #careeropportunity #internship #summerinternship #globalinternship #undergraduate

Ocean Conservation Project: UNIQLO, Indonesia Contribution to ASEAN Heritage Parks, Wakatobi Island UNIQLO, Indonesia has conducted an Ocean Conservation Project at Wakatobi Island, Southeast Sulawesi, on 28 and 29 May 2024. This was the implementation action from the previous JOIN Campaign conducted last year - UNIQLO’s commitment to the environmental contribution, through collaborative actions with its stakeholders ranging from customers, government, community, as well as NGO. One of the main focuses is tackling the huge amount of plastic waste on the beach that majority comes from other countries and Indonesian regions. In collaboration with local partner Nusantara Nature Conservation Foundation (YKAN), we are doing a series of activities, including cleaning Soha Beach with 150 local people who successfully collected 296 kg of plastic waste and the waste separation education to more than 40 households. We also gave 20 organic and non-organic waste bins to local officers and a chopping machine to the local youth community. Through education and facility support, we expect to increase awareness from the local people to continue separating the waste and using the machine to chop non-organic waste (plastic into smaller pieces that are sold to the waste bank) and organic waste (food into compost that is used as soil fertilizer). On the second day, we invited 30 elementary students to join a mangrove tour and fun snake and ladder environmental games. The program closed with the handover of nine learning materials to the schools curated by Wakatobi National Park with diverse themes like mangroves, coral reefs, birds and others. #uniqlo #powerofclothing #lifewear #uniqloindonesia #sustainability #savetheearth #localcontribution #joincampaign #beachcleanup #oceanconservation #wastemanagement

In June, all UNIQLO, US corporate employees were invited to volunteer in both New York City and Los Angeles in our annual Day of Community Service. UNIQLO’s Day of Community Service is a day in which all UNIQLO US corporate employees can take time off to go and volunteer together as a team, made possible through UNIQLO’s Volunteer Paid Time-off Policy. This year, we had around 130 team members volunteering with local organizations. In New York City our volunteer groups, in partnership with Partnerships for Parks, painted 2 support walls (totaling about 50 feet in length), 43 benches, and removed roughly 30 bags of weeds and natural debris in Jackie Robinson Park. Meanwhile, our volunteer teams in Los Angeles packed over 2,000 boxes of non-perishable food for families at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. UNIQLO is proud to volunteer with local organizations and continue to make a positive impact in our communities! #uniqlo #lifewear #powerofclothing #uniqlous #sustainability #dayofcommunityservice #localcontribution #foodbank #diversityandinclusion #environmentalfriendly #peopleengagement #employeeengagement #volunteerwork #peoplepanetcommunity

UNIQLO, Hong Kong sponsors the official team uniforms for the Sports Association for the Physically Disabled of Hong Kong, China (HKSAPD) from 2024 to 2028. Following the two-year sponsorship of the "Para Sports Community and School Development Programme" last year, we extended the partnership with HKSAPD to further support the development of disabled sports and establish a diverse and inclusive society through different means.   The official uniforms are made with advanced UNIQLO technologies, primarily using DRY-EX, which quickly absorbs and wicks away sweat, and Ultra Stretch, a soft and lightweight fabric that stretches in a 360-degree direction, ensuring optimal performance for athletes when wearing the uniforms. The design of the official uniforms follows a simple and neat style, with a deep blue color representing professionalism and high technology, as well as gray representing stability, showcasing the athletes' spirit of facing challenges, training hard, and striving tirelessly to pursue their dreams.   #uniqlo #lifewear #powerofclothing #uniqlohongkong #uniqlohk #sustainability #madeforall #simplemadebetter #unlockthepowerofclothing #disabledsports #innovation #uniqlotechnology #empowerment #dream #diversityandinclusion
