I know it's tongue in cheek, but I'm so tired of this overwrought concern. A nuclear apocalypse is almost certainly worse for the planet's biosphere than letting humanity adapt at the slowest. Have we forgotten about nuclear winter?I wonder how many microseconds it would take an errant self-directed AI to launch the nukes after being prompted to ‘save the planet’.
Given the imperative "save the planet," I could see the AI embarking on a long term project to swing Earth into a more distant orbit within a few billion years.
