In this report, we show you relevant internal linking suggestions.
We do so by taking the top 10 keywords (by traffic) for each crawled page, then looking for mentions of those on your other crawled pages.
In essence, the report tells you:
The page to link from
The keyword mentioned on the source page, for which the target page ranks for
The page to link to
Below are some actionable ways to use this report.
This method is useful if you just published a new article or have a relevant page that you want to drive internal links to.
For example, we just recently updated our guide on content optimization.
To find opportunities, set the search mode to Target page and paste the URL in the search box. Hit return and we have 13 pages we could link from to our content optimization guide.
This method helps you focus on opportunities that are most important to you right now.
Click on Advanced filter. Add a new rule set to Keyword and the condition to Contains. Then, enter any relevant keyword related to the page you’d want to add internal links to.
For example, if we want to boost our guide about link building, we’ll filter for pages that mention “link building”.
Then, check the Keyword context column.
Where it makes sense, add contextual links from the relevant source pages using relevant anchor texts.
Page Rating (PR) shows the strength of the source page's overall internal backlink profile on a 100-point scale.
Click on the PR column. This will reveal the most authoritative pages.
Internal links from these pages are more likely to positively impact the SEO performance of other pages the most.
