Supporting government innovation
Governments are beginning to see how AI can help them serve their communities better, faster and with limited resources. From fixing potholes to addressing threats to public health, AI can support a government’s ability to deliver on its promises. To help, Google partnered with the National League of Cities to launch an AI Toolkit, designed to help ensure the opportunities of AI are widely accessible across communities.
The Air Force Research Laboratory partnered with Google Cloud to leverage AI to tackle complex challenges, from materials science and bioinformatics to human performance optimization. This collaboration not only enhances their research capabilities, but also aligns with broader Department of Defense initiatives to integrate AI into critical operations, bolster national security, and maintain technological advantage.

Improving veteran access to benefits and services
Google partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to enable developers to create new tools and applications that make it easier for veterans to access healthcare, submit claims, and manage their benefits, ultimately promoting efficiencies within the VA.
Improving critical injury outcomes for military personnel
At the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), the Surgical Critical Care Initiative uses Google AI to develop new ways to diagnose and treat service members, including developing Critical Decision Support Tools that help to personalize treatment plans and therapies for active military personnel and veterans.

Helping more than 11 million Americans earn job-ready credentials
We’re helping Americans learn new skills and preparing them for the jobs of tomorrow, including training more than 11 million Americans through our Grow with Google program. To make sure that people from all backgrounds have access to AI training, Google.org launched the AI Opportunity Fund to train over 1 million Americans on critical AI skills through a number of partnerships, including Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMG) and Goodwill Industries International.

Hill Top Contractors, a storage tank removal, environmental remediation and construction company based in Roanoke, VA, uses Google’s AI-powered search to inform their business practices - helping them stay up-to-date on industry regulations and equipment maintenance information.

Benchmark Labs uses Vertex AI to develop weather forecasting and insights tailored to specific locations. Equipped with Benchmark Labs’ tools, farmers are gaining more actionable alerts at a microclimate level across their farms, and have increased their crop yields by 50 to 100 percent.

Reflex AI and Google.org deployed HomeTeam – an AI-powered training tool that combines short content modules with realistic simulations – to provide Veterans with the skills and confidence to support their peers struggling with mental health challenges.
Creating a breakthrough in wildfire detection
Google partnered with leaders in the fire community to create FireSat - a purpose-built constellation of satellites designed specifically to detect and track wildfires as small as a classroom. With FireSat, authorities will have high-resolution imagery that is updated globally every 20 minutes, helping them respond to fires before they become destructive.
