9/11 was released in U.S. theaters September 8th, 2017.

While 9/11 is based on the actual events that transpired on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center, the characters depicted in the film are not based on real people. 9/11 is based on a play entitled “Elevator” written by Patrick Carson.

Film distribution for the 9/11 movie is being handled in the U.S. by Atlas Distribution Company ("A Royal Night Out", "Absolutely Anything").

9/11 tells the story of five people who find themselves trapped in an elevator in the World Trade Center’s North Tower on September 11, 2001. These individuals, all from very different walks of life, come together as America’s greatest tragedy unfolds around them. They never give up hope as they struggle to escape before the unthinkable happens.
