The School of Art at Illinois State University provides education in the
visual arts. The School of Art offers BA and BS degrees in Studio Arts,
Graphic Design, Art History and Art Teacher Education. Also offers: MA
in Art History; MS in Studio Arts and Art Education; MFA in the Studio
Arts. University Galleries offer students the opportunity to present their
work with professional museum staff. This experience prepares students
to deal with professional galleries on graduation if pursuing a career
as a visual artist. Disciplines available include drawing, glass, painting,

printmaking, metalwork, video, integrated media and photography.

Part of the University of Illinois, the College of Fine and Applied Arts
has seven academic units: School of Art and Design; School of Architecture;
Department of Dance; Department of Landscape Architecture; School of Music;
Department of Theatre; and Department of Urban and Regional Planning.
The School of Art and Design offers a range of studio BFA and MFA programs
with majors in painting, photography, sculpture, crafts (focusing on metals
and ceramics), industrial design and new media.
The Art History program offers BFA, MA and PhD degrees. Students can also

The School of Art, part of the Northern Illinois University, is one of
the largest in the country offering undergraduate, masters and PHD degree
